TRANSLATION:
We say “Jesus” and we rest in plenitude and totality that can no longer be taken from us.
The name Jesus then becomes a bearer of the whole Christ. It brings us into His total presence. In this total presence are found all the realities towards which the name has served as a means of approach: salvation and pardon, the Incarnation and the Transfiguration, the Church and the Eucharist, the Father and the Spirit. All things then appear to us “gathered together in Christ”(Ep 1:10). If we cling to the name of Jesus we shall receive the special blessings that the Scripture promises, “Have mercy on me as is Thy custom toward them that love Thy name”(Ps 119:132).
And may the Lord be pleased to say of us what He said of Saul:”He is a chosen vessel of Mine, to bear My name” (Acts 9:15)
-A Monk of the Church
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy upon me a sinner”
(主耶稣基督,上帝的儿子,怜悯我这个罪人)
A big thank you to Xiao XiongJuan (肖雄娟)for the Chinese translation.

It shouldn’t be surprising that the name of Jesus Christ itself has immense power. Calling upon His name means we are calling upon He Who promised to be with us until the end of all time, of course, but even the name itself carries meaning.
Christ, 基督, means the “annointed one” in the original Greek, the Messiah, the One chosen to deliver mankind from the evils of the world and reign over us. Jesus, the name dgiven by the angel Gabriel at the Annunciation, means “God with us”. So not only is Christ the one sent from Heaven to save us, He is actually God Himself, Who walked amongst us to purify every stage of human life, and return us to where (and who) we truly should be.
