That's a nice set of icons you have there? I live in China too but I have to order my icons online from www.vizantina.com. They are mostly silver icons, but it's free UPS shipping worldwide so usually just use them, Do you get yours in China or do you order online too? I'd really like to find a shop in Shanghai.

Beautifully explained...the English word is so lacking (being based in a juridical understanding)... maybe 'reboot' might even be better for us to understand the meaning - a meaning which is /right there/ in Chinese.

Are you and all your friends okay after the earthquake and 2 weeks of intense aftershocks in China? I believe you are in Northern China, but I am not sure about all those you know.

Yes the icons are beautiful, Julia. The first one shows Christ's entry into Jerusalem (Mark 11); then one of Mary and Child shown as a fountain of living water; then the body of Christ being taken down from the Cross; then an icon called the Exaltation of the Cross, a festival celebrated on the 14th of September; then an icon of Christ teaching in the temple (e.g. Luke 4:16-30); then the two women finding Christ's empty tomb (Mark 16:1-8); then there are two icons of Mary, mother of God; then an icon of the Prophet Elijah in the desert (from the OT); then an icon of St. George (the patron saint of England :-D and other things too); then an icon of the Last Supper (Luke 22:17-20) and another of Jesus washing His disciples feet (John 13:1-20); then a dramatic icon of Judas betraying Jesus with a kiss, and His (Christ's) arrest; then the Crucifixion. Finally another icon of Mary with Jesus, but in this icon both have crowns because they reign in Heaven now!

Wow, yes, a lot of icons... and so much more to say about them.
